1 x 3 hours and 2 x 2 to 3 hours - Includes clay, glazes and firings
Teacher: Julie Martin
For beginner and intermediate potters (hand building) age 16 to 116 : )
In a small group setting of three or four students, this is a great opportunity to experience pottery making in a friendly and comfortable environment, and a perfect introduction to clay art!
Potters will explore hand building techniques to create their own collection, following the theme of the chosen class.
Botanical imprints: Pick your preferred leaves or flowers to imprint on your plates, small bowls, coasters and/or magnets, then we apply colour, and glaze them!
Dinner plate set: Make a set of four to six dinner plates, with accents and surface decorations techniques like engraving, stamping, or colour application.
Lanterns and tealights: Just in time for the cold season, potters will make lanterns and tea lights using the 'Devil's Work' technique.
Pie plate set: One pie plate and four dessert plates, with your own surface decoration choices. A set that just might justify some bragging rights!
Pinch Pot Galore: Make your collection of pinch pots! Little pinch pots with lids, espresso cups, tealight holders, succulent planters... so many possibilities!
If you are interested in learning how to use the pottery wheel (instead of hand building), please see our 'Pottery Wheel One-on-One' program.
