The Shaw Street Pottery 2026 'Mérida Pottery Program' will take place from February 25th to 27th, and our clay creations will be fired and ready to be picked-up on March 4th.

Planning on being in Merida in late February? If you are creative and enjoy hands-on activities, this program is a fabulous option to add to your Merida experience.
This is a unique opportunity to learn about Yucatan clay and ancestral hand building and surface decoration techniques. We will be traveling to a nearby village and learn how to make the clay from scratch, hands-on with 4th generation family of potters. Then we will make our clay creations in a sweet studio in downtown Mérida, with the guidance of two super nice local clay artists and teachers. This 'barro' program is usually offered over the course of one month, but this special Shaw Street Pottery edition of the program is set to be completed in only 8 days!
What is included:
All taxes and service fees, transportation and workshop in nearby village on February 25th (departure at 9:15am from Santiago neighbournood and back to Mérida by 4pm), two pottery classes per day on February 26th and 27th (10am to 1pm, and 3 to 5pm) in Merida's Santa Ana neighbourhood , all materials and pottery firing.
Participants pick-up their fired/finished items on March 4th.
What is not included:
-The lunch following the February 25th workshop in the village on our way back to Mérida

CANCELLATION POLICY
-If a booking is cancelled by the client on or before December 31th, 2025, 50% will be refunded.
-No refund will be issued if a client cancels their booking on or after January 1st, 2026.
-If a booking is cancelled by Shaw Street Pottery, a full refund will be provided.
