This special program includes a fun pottery program, hand building with traditional Yucatan clay in the best studio in downtown Mérida. We will also learn about ancestral Yucatan motifs and ancient Maya symbols, and apply them to the surface of some pieces in a special 'sgraffito' workshop.
The following days, while our clay creations dry and get fired, we explore the best of Yucatan! Enjoy an excursion to beautiful cenotes, visit the fascinating town of Izamal, do a tin embossing workshop, explore local food with a market to table cooking class with a local chef, explore the city with many outings to the Janal Pixan and Day of the Dead festivities, and the best traditional weekly events of downtown Mérida.
We will explore the city on foot and you can count on a lot of walking, so bring your best walking footwear! We will be staying in a spacious and gorgeous house, breakfast is included every morning, and so is a light snack and beverage every afternoon. Perfecto!! : )
