A unique hands-on cultural experience in Mérida, Yucatan, Mexico, carefully curated for makers and culture savvy travellers. This beautiful retreat invites you to slow down, connect with local culture, and immerse yourself in the rich traditions of Yucatán. We'll begin with a pottery program at Mérida's best studio, where local clay artists will guide you in working with Yucatán clay, using ancestral hand-building and surface decoration techniques. Your creative journey continues with a glass fusion workshop in the artist’s studio, a day of weaving Yucatán henequen with a great textile artist, a market to table cooking class with a local chef, celebrating the region's culinary heritage.
Beyond the studios and kitchen, we'll experience the heart of Mérida through guided outings to traditional events and activities around the vibrant historic centre of downtown Mérida and, enjoy a relaxing day at the beach.
Our accommodations are outstanding - we'll stay in a spacious luxury downtown house, within walking distance to all downtown activities and events, restaurants, cafés and public markets. Enjoy a beautiful breakfast every morning, snacks and refreshment every afternoon, and time to relax by the pool. Sweet!
We'll explore Mérida on foot, walking approximately 2–10 km (1.5–6 miles) on most days, so bring comfortable shoes to make the most of this vibrant city.
