Looking for your next creative escape? Join our eight-day cultural retreat in Mérida, Yucatán! Designed for creative and culture-savvy travellers, this immersive experience takes you into the heart of a festive Mexican gem.
This beautiful retreat begins with a journey to a nearby village, where we’ll discover the traditional process of transforming local rock into workable clay. We’ll make a few pieces on site with a third generation Maya family of potters, bring our creations back to Mérida, and fine tune our pieces in the best studio in town. On the following days, while our works of art dry and get fired, we will immerse into the local culture with many outings to traditional events, museums, galleries and shops around the vibrant historic centre of downtown Mérida. We crown this Mérida adventure with a market to table cooking class with a local chef, exploring local produce in Mérida's biggest public market, and indulge in the beautiful flavours of Yucatan cuisine with a celebratory dinner.
Accommodations are in a gorgeous luxury downtown house, within walking distance to downtown landmarks, restaurants, cafés and public markets. A generous breakfast every morning, snacks and beverage every afternoon, and plenty of time to chillax by the pool. We will be exploring the city on foot, walking 5 to 10km on most days (3 to 6 miles), so bring your best walking shoes!
